The 2014 recipient of the Good Egg Award is John Crowley.

 

The award is presented annually by the Petaluma Downtown Association to a community member whose efforts have helped preserve and contribute to the promotion of the city of Petaluma and its history. The Good Egg program’s goal is to encourage citizens to become advocates for their city and act as ambassadors and the Good Egg should be a role model in this way.

 

Nominated by Lyndi Brown, John is, in her words, “the Pied Piper of Petaluma cultural and social riches.” In 2001, he had an idea for a community-building event. Originally known as the Pub Crawl but quickly shortened to the Crawl, it became a roving quarterly event, exploring the city’s historic buildings, street and sometimes unknown spaces. Lagunitas puts the FUN in Fundraiser!

We hope you’ll be able to join us on April 14th at Lagunitas Taproom to help us raise some Moo-la for the parade!

Where:  Lagunitas Taproom & Beer Sanctuary, 1280 N. McDowell Blvd

When:  Monday April 14th, 5:30-8:30pm

What:  A BBQ chicken dinner will be catered by Lombardi’s Barbeque & Deli and Petaluma Poultry’s Rocky & Rosie.  live music from Randy & The Special Agents and The Mighty Groove.  Trivia, raffle with items donated from our fabulous local merchants, coloring for kids, beer, wine and FUN! 100% of our proceeds will go to keeping the Butter & Egg Days marching through downtown Petaluma!

The parade is scheduled for April 26th, 2014 and we’re excited for another fabulous event.  This year our local Petaluma Poultry’s Rocky® & Rosie® are presenting the parade events and we’re thrilled to add them to our wonderful group of  “Home Grown” sponsors!

Santa’s Coming to Town!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  In his usual festive style, Santa Claus will be making his way to the River Plaza shopping center on November 30th via the tugboat “Petaluma”.  His arrival will be met by 1000′s of eager children, waiting to welcome him to town and start the holiday season.

Starting at 11am, River Plaza will be full of festive holiday entertainment.  And also delicious baked goods to raise funds for those affected by Hurricane Haiyan in the Philippines.  This bake sale was dreamt up and organized by two local children, Makoa & Alana, and 100% of the funds will be donated to UNICEF.

At Noon, Santa & Mrs. Claus will make their appearance on the Petaluma River and will proceed into the River Plaza.  Santa will be on hand for a couple hours to take pictures with … Read More »

Pumpkins & Scarecrows take over Downtown

Harvest Days was imagined as a way to bring all the pumpkins & harvest bounty in our local farms to Downtown.  And we are thrilled to announce the fun events taking place this weekend, Oct 11-13! 

Scarecrows have joined us  in various businesses across Downtown, they’ve hit the town leaving behind their cornfields and farmland.  Hence, Scarecrow on the Town, which is a fun and creative homage to the harvest season and Petaluma’s agricultural roots.  You can download a map with their locations or just mosey around Downtown and try to spot all 18 yourself!

Fall in Downtown Petaluma is marked by the appearance of our annual Fall Antique Faire.  Coming up on September 29th, this one day faire is an antique lover’s paradise.  We play host to over 180 antique & collectible dealers that venture to our little Petaluma from far and wide.  Wares are too numerous to list here, but suffice to say that there is something for everyone.

The 5th running of the Great Petaluma Treasure Hunt is here! 

Join us on August 17th for an amazing adventure. Presented jointly with the Petaluma Downtown Association, this information-based scavenger hunt takes place on foot around the streets of Downtown Petaluma, and is a benefit for the Butter & Egg Days Parade.

Your Mission: Assemble a team of family and friends and use your collective brain power to solve a series of clues. Each of the puzzles takes teams to parks, around landmarks, and inside local businesses to uncover each answer. This marks the sixth year for what has become one of the most highly regarded events on the west coast summer music festival circuit. The Petaluma Music Festival takes place on Saturday, August 3rd, 2013, at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds & Event Center in Petaluma.
