Hwy 101 Petaluma Blvd S. CLOSURE!
Petaluma, Sonoma County – On Sunday, September 27, Caltrans will close Petaluma Boulevard South under U.S. Route 101 for 24 hours in order to complete demolition of the former southbound bridge. This work is taking place in one 24-hour period to avoid several nights of road closures. Residents may notice increased noise from equipment and mandatory backup alarms.
- Petaluma Boulevard South under U.S. Route 101 will close Sunday morning, September 27, at 5 a.m. and reopen on Monday morning, September 28, at 5 a.m.
- Demolition will be complete by midnight on September 27. The remaining time will be spent in cleanup prior to reopening Petaluma Boulevard South.
- Detour for the Kastania area, Petaluma Boulevard South Park & Ride Lot, and businesses southeast of the closure: Northbound U.S. Route 101 traffic that usually exits at Petaluma Boulevard South will be detoured to the next exit at State Route 116/Lakeville Highway, cross under the freeway, take the southbound U.S. Route 101 on-ramp, and continue to the Petaluma Boulevard South off-ramp. Note: the Petaluma Boulevard South off-ramp will reopen prior to the closure of Petaluma Boulevard South.
- Detour for Quarry Heights and destinations west or southwest of the closure: Exit at State Route 116 in Petaluma, go west on Lakeville Street, left on East D Street, left on Petaluma Boulevard South, and continue to your destination.
